Quick AVI Joiner is aimed to merge various AVI video files into a larger file with the same format. The program’s interface is unattractive. I was surprised to see no button to start joining the files, a function that should be accessed via the menu or the contextual menu instead. In many respects, this should be the most important button and it is absolutely absent!
In order to merge video files, you should first create a list. Files should be added using the file browser because, unfortunately, the program does not support dragging and dropping. Although AVI is the only media container type allowed as source, the files can have different properties. After creating the list, you can arrange the files in order and check some of their properties. You can also use the Play Selected AVI button to watch the selected movie on your computer’s default media player. Then, using the Options button you can set different conversion parameters, such as resizing the video, disabling audio or video stream, configuring the code, etc.
In my opinion, Quick AVI Joiner needs further development work, mostly on its graphic design. There is a Configure button that does not work unless a specific codec is selected. Additionally, there are some typos. However, I cannot complain about its conversion engine, because it did its task as expected.
